About Anton
From the furniture shop to your front door
Hi, I'm Anton.
I grew up in Kharkiv, Ukraine. At 16 I started working in our family furniture business. My father was an interior designer, and together we made custom kitchens, wardrobes, and built-ins, from the first measurement to the last screw in the client's home. Precision and detail were the standard from day one.
I studied construction and earned a master's degree in construction engineering, evaluated in the U.S. as equal to a Master of Science. For almost eight years I also ran my own ceiling installation company in Kharkiv, working in apartments, offices, and shops. Building businesses runs in our family: together we also grew a gift box brand that shipped over 100,000 boxes across Ukraine.
In 2022 the war changed everything. My family and I came to the United States and started over in Wausau, Wisconsin. There we opened Just Right, a small Ukrainian bakery and coffee shop. I did the whole build-out myself, from repairs to equipment setup. It became a warm little place for our neighbors, and it taught us how much a small business depends on trust. At the same time I worked on homes across the area and earned a loyal base of repeat clients.
In 2025 we moved to San Diego, and I started Built by Anton. Today I help families in Del Sur and North County with small home projects, and I'm working toward my California General Contractor license. I've also worked on house flips and taught renovation and deal analysis at real estate investment bootcamps, so I look at every home a little like an investor: what will last, and what's worth your money.
My clients know me for one thing: I leave every job clean and done right.

What kind of jobs does Anton take?

How do I get a price?
Text a photo of the job to 534-356-2818. Anton usually replies the same day with a price or a few questions.
Do you clean up after the job?
Yes. Floors are covered during work, and the room is vacuumed and wiped down before Anton leaves. Clean work is part of the job.
Are you a licensed contractor?
No. Anton is not a licensed contractor and takes handyman jobs under $1,000. For electrical, plumbing, gas or larger projects, he will tell you honestly and point you to a licensed professional.
